Rampage Defeats Evansville Thunder 5-1
Dominant Play by your Rampage BoysUpdated Monday January 8, 2018 by Bruce Lindsey.
The moment the puck dropped to start today's rivalry game, your Owensboro Rampage played with near perfection against their heated rival, the Evansville Thunder, winning easily 5-1 in a dominant game of teamwork, passing, puck control, spacing, just the right amount of physical play, and true finesse. The outcome never seemed to be in doubt as Owensboro's Dalton Revels scored first for the Rampage at the 11:39 mark of the 1st period. Leading 1-0 through the middle of the 2nd period, George Triplett caught fire scoring a short handed goal at the 8:54 mark. Evansville quickly took a timeout to discuss just what the heck they'd skated into today. After the timeout, George Triplett struck gold again a mere 30 seconds later with a tip-in off a slapshot from Grayson McFarland to give Owensboro a 3-0 lead with 8:10 to go in the 2nd period. With 5:27 to go in the 2nd period, Josh Ratusny knocked in a sweet pass from George Triplett to give Owensboro a 4-0 lead. With 7:06 to go in the game, Garett Baker pounded the final nail in Evansville's coffin giving Owensboro a 5-0 lead. Evansville was able to knock in a shot with 6:20 to go in the game for the final score, a 5-1 win for YOUR OWENSBORO RAMPAGE. Huge kudos to our young defense and stellar play from our goalie today, Taine Wilson. So far this year, the Owensboro Hockey Program has proven it is the premier hockey program in the Tri-State as the Owensboro High School team has played the Evansville High School teams in three dominant wins and the Owensboro Bantam and Peewees have played the Evansville Bantam and Peewees in four games. Evansville has yet to win a game against an Owensboro Team this year. Bring out the brooms folks. We have one more game against this Evansville team at Swonder on Feb 10
